The theme of the year is Space!
Moonglow-rious will reveal the history and myths of Space through
various focused art projects.
Discussions will range from aliens, werewolves, space travel, and the space age.
Grades - K-3 | Wednesdays | June 12, 19, 26 | 10 - 11:30 a.m.
Kindergarten through third graders will explore textures found in space to create a galaxy painting utilizing watercolors. They will also construct a 3D rocket using found objects. Lastly, they will explore balance, space, and gravity through the creation of a mobile.
Grades - 4-6 | Thursdays | June 13, 20, 27 | 10:30 - Noon
Fourth through sixth graders will explore textures found in space and attempt to recreate them utilizing various watercolor techniques.
They will also examine the phases of the moon and construct a mobile related to their findings. Lastly, they will use gravity to create an abstract painting.
Teens & Adults |Thursdays | June 13, 20, 27 | 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Teens and adults will have the opportunity to create a watercolor galaxy painting using various painting techniques.
They will also utilize gravity in the completion of an acrylic painting as well as relinquish some control in an acrylic paint pour piece.
Lastly, they will create a sculpture inspired by our discussion of the moon.
